Des campagnes d’abattage devaient concerner plusieurs élevages du pays. Finalement, tout le cheptel de visons va être tué car une mutation du virus menace l’efficacité du vaccin sur l’homme.

Le Danemark va abattre la totalité de la quinzaine de millions de visons élevés sur son territoire à cause d'une mutation du Covid-19 déjà transmise à 12 personnes. Selon le gouvernement danois, il menace l'efficacité d'un futur vaccin pour l'homme.

« Le virus muté via les visons peut créer le risque que le futur vaccin ne fonctionne pas comme il le doit […] Il est nécessaire d'abattre tous les visons », soit 15 à 17 millions de bêtes selon les autorités, a dit la Première ministre Mette Frederiksen lors d'une conférence de presse.
